Rigid's Machinery & technical Capabilities

'Performance Grade' is new from Rigid

New board grade ideal for shelf ready packaging and many other applications.
Rigid Containers continue to push the boundaries of box making. Following investment in new single facer equipment and special corrugating rolls at the Desborough site, we are proud to launch ‘Rigid Performance Grade’ corrugated board.

‘Rigid Performance Grade’ is a new type of corrugated board.
The new flute profile means that we can offer increased box performance, reduce the weight and yet improve printability all at the same time. Due to the lighter weight of the board itself, we can help reduce logistics and supply chain costs considerably, further reducing carbon footprint.

So what makes ‘Rigid Performance Grade’ different from the company’s other grades of board?
This new grade of corrugated board sits between B flute and E flute. With this new grade, the flute tips are closer together than a B flute sheet; this results in a greatly improved print surface. Add to this the fact it allows for crisper cuts for perforations, and you have the ideal packaging grade for all your shelf ready packaging requirements. It really is as simple as that!

If you substitute your regular B flute board with our ‘Rigid Performance Grade’, we will be able to reduce your warehousing and logistics costs. In a recent trial, we were able to save one customer 20 per cent on their warehousing costs alone. Less bulky board means less pallet space.

‘Rigid Performance’ is available in the following options:

Rigid Performance 300 is for lighter, shelf ready products and other applications:
Rigid Performance 310: Testliner
Rigid Performance 320: Kraftliner
Rigid Performance 330: White-Top

Rigid Performance 400 is for heavier shelf ready products and other applications:
Rigid Performance 410: Testliner
Rigid Performance 420: Kraftliner
Rigid Performance 430: White-Top
